A consortium of social workers, human rights activists, and lawyers working together to aid children and women in need since 2005.
HOPAD (Helpless, Orphan, Poor, Affected, and Dalits) Child & Women Promotion Society is a humanitarian non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Nepal. We are dedicated to providing care, rehabilitation, education, and development support to children and women who have been marginalized by society, poverty, or disasters.
Founded in 2005 by human rights activists, social workers, and legal advocates, the organization was born out of a shared concern for the vulnerability of orphaned children and destitute women. From our modest beginnings supporting a handful of children in a rented building, we have grown into a stable, supportive family, advocating for human rights and changing lives in Lalitpur.
To provide shelter, equal opportunities, protection, medical care, and holistic development support for helpless children and women in Nepal. We strive to create positive social change by raising awareness and advocating for institutional adjustments at government levels to protect vulnerable populations.
To build a compassionate, fair, and supportive society where no child goes without an education or home, and every marginalized woman is empowered with training and equal rights, leading to self-reliant, dignified, and better living conditions.
Approved by our governing board, these objectives guide our program implementations and resource allocations.
Provide shelter, nutritious meals, primary care, and a warm family-like home for orphaned, abandoned, or highly vulnerable children.
Provide vocational training (such as tailoring, embroidery, and handicraft making), counseling, and support to enable financial self-reliance.
Fund school tuition fees, supply uniforms, stationery, books, and computer lab tools for children who cannot afford formal education.
Facilitate regular medical checkups, clinical counseling for trauma, nutritional supplements, and clean drinking water facilities.
Conduct community discussions regarding child rights, domestic violence, child labor, and Dalit discrimination to build a supportive society.
Advocate for adjustments in policy, work alongside international partners to secure resources, and rebuild infrastructure for destitute families.
Through direct community involvement, we run programs addressing the immediate and long-term needs of women and children.
Our residential home provides a family environment for 20+ children. Run by caring housemothers and supervisors, it ensures children receive shelter, tutoring, and emotional support. We are continuously upgrading the home to provide improved living spaces and learning resources.
Meet the Children
We run tailoring and embroidery workshops for marginalized women in Lalitpur. These 6-month courses equip women with technical and entrepreneurial skills, helping them secure employment or open their own shops, breaking the cycle of poverty and dependence.
