The HOPAD Women's Tailoring Program

The HOPAD Women's Tailoring Program offers the women of rural Nepal a six month training course in traditional Nepali tailoring. Thus far, 150 dalit, single, indigenous, poor, Tharu women have participated in the HOPAD Women's Tailoring Program. Of the 150, seventeen of the women have gone on to take the three month advanced course. Among those seventeen, three women now have their own tailor shops with the financial support of HOPAD. The HOPAD Women's Embroidery Program

The HOPAD Women's Embroidery Program offers the women of rural Nepal a three month training course in traditional Nepali embroidery. Thus far, in the first training program that was offered in the remote Dang, Nepal, 22 women of the Kumal Community, dait, or marginalized backgrounds attended.
